Mr. Lawrence Brent Schwartz, 69, of New Windsor, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Carroll Hospice' s Dove House. Born October 17, 1944 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Lawrence Sheridan Schwartz and Gloria Mae Angel Teal and the stepson of the late William Teal. He was the husband of Sandra Lea "Sandy" Luthardt Schwartz, his wife of 49 years. Mr. Schwartz was a 1962 graduate of Catonsville High School. He was employed as an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local #24 of Baltimore, working throughout the country. In 1962 he apprenticed with the union and remained an active member until his disabililty retirement in 1999. He loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the joy of his life, as all children were. He enjoyed classic cars, history, technology and science. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sheri Lea Schwartz-Howes and husband Timothy of Westminster; 2 grandchildren, Brittney Lea Barfoot Gootee and Brentt Reicher Barfoot; 3 great granddaughters Amy, Melanie and Chloe; a sister, Debbie Teal Howard of Baltimore and a brother, William S. Schwartz of Berkeley Springs, WV. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Anne Durboraw, pastor of St. Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church, New Windsor.
