Max Fred Harris, 81, of Westminster, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born July 4, 1929, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Josephine Szewczyk Harris Pakovich and Max Harris. He was the husband of Lois Virginia Harris, his wife of 61 years. He retired in 1990 from a 45-year career as a master electrician. He was a foreman with H.P. Foley and was a member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local 24. His most notable work was at the Hyatt Regency and the C&P Telephone building in Baltimore, as well as the Fort McHenry Tunnel. He was an active member of the Wright Flyers and the Carroll AeroModelers, where he enjoyed building and flying his radio controlled airplanes. He was an avid Baltimore Colts and later Baltimore Ravens fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Dena and Gary Bauer, of Hampstead, Carolyn and William Cheezum Sr., of Finksburg, Joyce and Wayne Turowski, of Mount Airy, and Cheryl and Mark Elksnis, of Catonsville; siblings and spouses Jenny Rutkowski, of Baltimore, Joseph Sr. and Frances Harris and Helen Pavuk, all of Bel Air; grandchildren and spouses Heidi and Juan Wlasiuk, Christopher Bauer, Beverly and Ric Kreiger, William Jr. and Rachel Cheezum, Matthew Ayres, Melissa Turowski, Jennifer Turowski and Kathleen Turowski; and great-grandchildren Dade, Coralee and Brennan Wlasiuk and Anäis Ayres. He was predeceased by a sister, Julia Hardy; and a brother, Anthony Harris. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with his son-in-law, Deacon Gary Bauer, officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
