Jay Thomas Underkoffler, 58, of Finksburg, died July 18, 2010, at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson. Born Nov. 4, 1951, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William C. Jr. and Margaret B. "Deanie" Thomas Underkoffler. He was the husband of Sharon Slunt Underkoffler, whom he married Oct. 28, 1972. He was a 1970 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Instititute and had been an electrician for BKTruland for the last 11 years. He enjoyed drag racing with his "Team High Voltage." He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 24. He enjoyed being with family and friends and liked to work on his house and built his garage. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Sheri A. and Luke Sinnen, of Columbia; a son, Craig M. Underkoffler, of Parkville; and a brother, Gary Lee Underkoffler, of Jarrettsville. He was predeceased by a brother, Craig Lee Underkoffler. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where a Christian wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with Monsignor Arthur Valenzano officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Dundalk.
