Pleasant Irving Fowble Jr., 89, of Hampstead, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born Oct. 9, 1920, in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Pleasant Irving Fowble Sr. and Mattie May Martin Fowble. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Virginia Tipton Fowble. He was an electrician for Local 24 and had served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are grandchildren Glen Edward, Lemuel Lee Jr. and Dewayne S. Fowble, and Michelle Macias; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Boring, of North Carolina. He was predeceased by sons Ralph Edward Fowble, Lemuel Lee Fowble Sr., Tim Fowble and Tom Fowble; and siblings Gilbert Fowble, Elsie Bollinger, Virgie Lahner and Geraldine Shaffer. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Brammer officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
