CAMBRIDGE James G. "Jimmy" Ruark, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1942, in Cambridge, a son of the late Gordy C. and Alice James Ruark.
Mr. Ruark graduated with the Class of 1960 from Cambridge High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a master electrician and previously worked for John Tieder and through Local Union IBEW #24, had worked on projects at Camden Yards and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. He also was a waterman.
He married Donna Keyes Oct. 21, 1964. Mrs. Ruark died Nov. 24, 1987.
Mr. Ruark was a trustee of the Spedden-Seward Cemetery. He was a member of Spedden United Methodist Church, where he was serving as Sunday School Superintendent. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 91 and Local Union IBEW #24.
He is survived by daughter Sherri Lynn Thomas of Cambridge; son Christopher J. Ruark of Preston; three grandchildren Hope Thomas, Scott Thomas and Amy Ruark and several aunts and cousins.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Spedden UM Church. Burial followed at Spedden-Seward Cemetery.
