DELMAR, Md. - Clifford B. "Benny" Mowbray Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.


He was born on March 31, 1942 in Cambridge and was a son of the late Clifford B. Mowbray Sr. and Helen Havlick Mowbray.


Mr. Mowbray graduated from Cambridge High School in 1960 and attended the University of Maryland College Park where he graduated in 1964 with a degree in Agriculture.


On July 13, 1968 he married Betty Jo Vickers.


Mr. Mowbray had worked for several different electric companies. In his younger years he was a great basketball and baseball player. He was an avid sport fan.


He was a member of St. Francis De Sales in Salisbury and a member of IBEW Local 24 in Baltimore.


He is survived by two children, Debra Mowbray Shockley and husband, Steve of Salisbury and Clifford Benjamin Mowbray III of Westover; his former wife, Betty Jo Mowbray of Westover; three grandchildren, Sabrina Jo Shockley, Steven Arthur Shockley and Brook Christine Shockley and a sister, Patricia Woods of Centreville.


Beside his parents, Mr. Mowbray was preceded in death by a brother, John L. Mowbray.


Services for Mr. Mowbray will be private.

Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral home, P.A. in Cambridge.
